Research and Insight
Understanding Derbyshire's people and places
To achieve our aims, we need to understand Derbyshire, it's people and places. We use research and develop insight to help us do this.
Our work and that of our partners will be more effective if it is informed by a good understanding of demographics, trends and future projections, and engages with communities and customers to develop understanding.
In this section, you will find useful research and data at a county, district and national level, which will help you to begin to understand the local area, activity and sport participation rates, demographic profiles and much more. This can form a strong basis for further insight and engagement work to develop understanding.
Assisting planning and delivery
Research and data analysis is useful for local authorities, National Governing Bodies and other delivery partners in their planning and delivery. It is also useful for clubs and groups who are applying for funding, as it can help to start the process of building a really good understanding of people, groups and communities.
If you find a piece of research or information elsewhere that you think would be useful to share here, please contact Martin Hird on the details above.
Are you looking to prioritise your work, make sense of facts and figures, understand your communities better or understand trends to write a strategy, plan or funding bid?
Active Derbyshire are now offering an Insight Service to partners and community based organisations.
