Schools invited to take part in Stand Up Derbyshire

Stand Up Derbyshire will take place on Friday 25th September.

Schools are being encouraged to take part and pledge that every child will be as active as possible during the school day.

Organised in partnership by Active Derbyshire and the school games organiser network in Derbyshire, schools will be sent a toolkit with ideas on how to incorporate bursts of physical activity throughout the school day. Ongoing support will be available after the day to help schools embed an active school ethos.

Themes will include active travel, active numeracy, active storytelling, health and wellbeing and there will also be a film to introduce the day so the young people know what they are taking part in and why.

As part of the day pupils will be asked to share what they enjoy about being active, and how they pledge to be active in the future.

Schools that take part will be able to download certificates and receive a poster outlining the physical activity benefits for young people.

For the first time, Stand Up Notts will also take place on the same day.
