Local funding for community groups supporting vulnerable people during the COVID-19 pandemic

Covid-19 has had a significant impact on all of us, but people who struggle in normal times have been pushed even further into hardship. This is why in April 2020, the East Midland's Airport took the decision to temporarily freeze their EMA Community Fund and Community Sponsorship programmes, so they can redirect this money to community groups which are supporting vulnerable people during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The COVID-19 Community Relief Fund has already awarded funds of over £23,000 to 36 local community groups including several local Food Banks, local groups making scrubs for the NHS, providing bikes for key workers so they can continue to get to work without having to use public transport, supporting the elderly and a range of other great causes.

The fund is currently open for a second round of applications. There is no cap on the amount - however, they want to help as many causes as possible so they ask that you only apply for an amount proportional to the tasks you will complete.
