The National Charity, United Way UK is working in partnership with businesses and other charitable organisations to reduce the impact of COVID-19 in local communities across the UK.
The Give Local COVID-19 Response aims to identify those small, local charities carrying out COVID-19 relief measures in support of vulnerable communities, to award them with grants to enhance and amplify their work.
An estimate of 20 small grants of £2,000, £3,000 and £5,000, and 3 community impact grants of £10,000 are available to those organisations which are:
- Registered as charities – including independent schools registered as charities.
- Have an average annual income of £300,000 or less.
- Work in one of the following areas: education, financial stability, food insecurity, disability, mental health or domestic violence.
The grant can be used to cover core costs including staff salary cost and volunteering expenses, supplies and equipment, travel expenses, training. All expenses to be covered need to be directly related to executing a programme that has a positive impact on the communities served.
The deadline for applications is 5 June 2020.
