In light of the latest guidance regarding COVID 19, we wanted to let you know how we're planning to handle this period of change as an organisation and how we can continue to support the people who live, work and study in our communities to become and remain active. Our team are already set up to work remotely and have now started to do so. We are working flexibly and plan to switch any existing face to face meetings to video calls when possible, otherwise to phone calls, we want to be adaptable and are ready to develop creative solutions to continue our work.

In terms of our upcoming workshops and courses, we'll be monitoring the situation and government advice and amending the delivery of these accordingly. Our current plan is to cancel workshops and courses for the next month – up to and including the Talking Insights - Women and girls workshops.

As a team and a wider community, we're also trying to build activity into our day as much as possible, and supporting those around us to be active in a way that suits them. We are using the time we'd usually spend travelling to meetings as an opportunity to take a short walk or volunteer with our local community group supporting those who are vulnerable or self-isolating – there are many ways in which we can help.

We think it's really important to take care of own and others' mental health too so are taking the time to speak to colleagues during the day, whether this be a work related or informal conversation so please do give one of us a call if you want to have a chat. Our individual numbers can be found here https://www.activederbyshire.org.uk/active-derbyshire-staff

Sport England have just published a dedicated webpage which details some of the ways they're supporting at this time and this can be found here https://www.sportengland.org/…/coronavirus-information-sect…

We'll stay in touch with any further changes and take care
