Severn Trent Community Fund - Now Open!

Severn Trent are going to be giving away £10million over the next five years to support local projects, charities and community groups in the Severn Trent region.
The fund focuses on improving community wellbeing:
- People: Projects that help people to lead a healthier life and gain new skills
- Places: Projects that help to create better places to live in and use
- Environment: Projects that will help look after our natural environment, give people greater access to that environment or help look after water
They'd love to see applications for projects that have a connection to the water cycle too! This might mean creating sustainable drainage, installing grey water recycling or creating water efficient green spaces.
There will be 3 levels of grants:
• £2,000- £10,000
If you are applying for more than £10,000 funding, it's essential that you are able to contribute at least 10% financial match funding.
Applications can be made by organisations including:
- Organisations with a charitable purpose (not for profit status)
- Publicly funded schools
- Local authorities
- Parish councils
- Sports clubs
In March, the first customer panel will meet and from April 2020 they will be giving out the first grants to local community projects.
Workshops about the fund are being run by Community Action Derby for groups in Derby, and South Derbyshire CVS, for groups in South Derbyshire.
Also an information event is taking place at NCVS (7 Mansfield Road, Nottingham) on Friday 31 January, from 9.30am-11.30am. The event will be run by Sue Heyes, Community Fund Officer for Severn Trent. To register your place to attend, please contact Sue by emailing Sue.Heyes@severntrent.co.uk
