Derbyshire Mind release new walking programme

The winter edition of Derbyshire Mind's walking programme, 'Enjoying Derby' has been released with a great variety of walks that anyone can take part in.

Walks are divided into different lengths to suit all abilities:

  • Short walk - under 1 mile, will take about an hour
  • Medium walk - under 2 miles, will take about two hours
  • Long walk - up to 3 mile, will take about three hours
  • Extra-long - over 5 miles, will take about 4 hours

The programme, running from December 2016 to February 2017 includes a variety of locations around Derbyshire and further afield. Spondon, Cromford, Belper and Litchfield are some of the locations.

Enjoying Derby is a walking programme that aims to improve your health by boosting both your physical and mental health. Walking with others can increase social interaction and the understanding between people who have mental health problems and the wider community.

Derbyshire Mind is a leading mental health charity within Derbyshire and are working to challenge the stigma around mental health issues and work for improvements in local mental health services.
