Every May, this national campaign encourages people to take to their feet and feel the benefits of walking.Events will be held up and down the UK, including flagship week-long festivals, Walk to Work Week and Walk to School Week, which are detailed below.

Throughout the month there will be tips, tools, fun facts and inspirational stories – not to mention a whole host of activities to get you out and enjoying your walks even more - on the National Walking Month website.

Walk to Work Week

In May 2014, workplaces around the UK logged more than 50,000 miles during Walk to Work Week - and the aim was to smash that target year on year.

It was a fun and free way to get some healthy competition going between colleagues, and get you feeling all the benefits of walking more during the working day, burning calories and cutting CO2 emissions.
