An exciting opportunity has arisen at the RFL, the national governing body for Rugby League in the UK. We are seeking to appoint an England Programmes Operations Manager based at our office in Manchester. You will lead, design, develop, implement, co-ordinate, deliver and monitor various administrative and some logistical processes, systems and procedures in providing support to the operational delivery of the England Senior Team and Talent Development programmes in the Talent and Performance Department.

About England Programmes Operations Manager

Principal duties will include, but not limited to:

  • To co-ordinate the operational and administrative support for Performance programmes, often with opposing deadlines which must be run in parallel throughout the season.
  • To provide operational support at Performance programme's events where required, occasionally working out of office hours. This may include coordinating or supporting a department fixture, a screening event or conference/meeting.
  • To identify and develop areas for improvement in the administrative and operational processes. In conjunction with the Head of Talent & Performance Operations look for opportunities to continuously improve and develop existing systems.
  • Relationship management with key stakeholders as appropriate and required. This will include high profile players and colleagues. The ability to develop relationships to improve the operations of the programme/department.
  • Work closely with, and provide support to the England Senior Team Manager, including planning communications to players, clubs, and England staff.
  • Assist with the production of tournament schedules with key stakeholders and coordinate the booking of travel, accommodation,training facilities and other team requirements
  • Monitoring of programme budgets and expenditure
    • Assist in the completion of all Covid documentation pertaining to programme activity.

Essential requirements of the role:

  • Strong administration and logistics background
  • Excellent communication and Microsoft package skills
  • Experience of working in an elite performance structure
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, and often, fluid environment
  • Experience of booking team travel and accommodation
  • Full driving license

Appointment may be made subject to a DBS check.
