Project Manager (Green Social Prescribing)

An exciting new position has been created following Derbyshire’s successful bid to become a test and learn site as part of a cross-government project aimed at ‘Preventing and tackling mental ill health through green social prescribing’. The post-holder will be part of a dynamic team, delivering the effective implementation of Green Spring Test and Learn Project for Derbyshire. The successful candidate will work with communities, social prescribers and providers of ‘green’ activities to determine what activities exist, how they are accessed and provided, what people want, gaps that might exist and potential barriers to engagement.

About Project Manager (Green Social Prescribing)

The postholder will also manage a budget on behalf of the project.

The project will test how to embed green social prescribing into communities in order to:

  • improve mental health outcomes
  • reduce health inequalities
  • reduce demand on the health and social care system
  • develop best practice in making green social activities more resilient and accessible

You will have strong project development skills, and an understanding and experience of working in the health, public or VCFSE sector, ideally in the context of improving health and wellbeing outcomes.

The job is for those who wants to see change come to life in communities, help make connections across health, environment and voluntary sectors to improve people's physical and mental health through nature-based activities. This wonderful learning platform will connect people with local nature on their own doorstep and across Derbyshire from the National Forest in the south to the Peak District National Park in the north.
