Derbyshire Sport Trust
A registered charity
The Derbyshire Sport Trust is a registered charity, which aims to increase participation in sport and active recreation in Derbyshire. The Trust seeks to maximise investment in sport and physical activity in line with the Derbyshire's strategy, Towards an Active Derbyshire, 2016 -2021.
The Trust's current priorities include supporting Derbyshire's talented athletes to achieve their full potential and to use the power of sport to address social and health inequalities.
The Trust has delivered a number of successful projects and is currently providing Adapted Physical Activity training (funded by the Big Lottery's Awards for All programme) to help volunteers provide more inclusive activities for people with disabilities.
Current projects include 'This Girl Can Coach' (funded by Sport England), which is helping to train female coaches to deliver new sport sessions. And, Derbyshire's 'Lets Go Ride a Bike' (funded by the Morrison's Foundation), to help more disabled people to take part in cycling.
