Active Derbyshire Plan

Aiming to get more people, more active

The Active Derbyshire Plan 2013-2016 outlines ambitions for getting more people more active and tackling the issue of physical inactivity at all ages and stages of life.

Physical inactivity is known to be the fourth leading cause of global mortality and many of the leading causes of ill health such as coronary heart disease, cancer and type 2 diabetes could be prevented if inactive people were to become more active.

Setting priorities

The plan sets out ambitions and priorities for each life stage from 0 to 5 years old through to 65+, and includes ambitions such as increasing the opportunities for pre-school children to take part in physical activity.

The plan has been developed through the Active Derbyshire Partnership which is the strategic lead for physical activity in Derbyshire. You can read the plan in full below.
